Podzol- Gray, acidic soil that is low in nutrients
Commensalism- when one organism thrives from the relationship and one is not affected
Parasitism- when one organism feeds of another, thriving, and the other is negatively affected
Mutualsim- when both organisms thrive from relationship
Taiga- another name for a Boreal Forest
Plateau- A flat, raised area usually with canyons on one side.
Deforestation- clearance or clearing of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use.
Photosynthesis- when plants use the sun's energy and converts it into food.
Acid Rain- a rain that is unusually acidic, and has high levels of hydrogen ions
