Physical Landscape/Habitat & Weather

Because of the snow melting and little evaporation, the ground stays very moist for the growing season. Too bad the growing season only lasts for about three months, but the soil is very acidic so you couldn't grow much. The reason for this is mainly because pine needles fall of and take a while to decompose. And the needles are waxy and have an acid in them that is released while they are being decomposed.
The climate is very cold, with the average annual temperatures ranging from 5 to -5 degrees Celsius. Because of this low temperature, the only precipitation it gets is snow, which is 20 to 200 cm per year.
Taiga biomes are usually flat but can have plateaus and low wetlands. Like what was mentioned earlier, the soil is gray, acidic, and low in nutrients. That type of soil is known as podzol.
